When Natalie discovered the world of floral preservation, her life changed for the better. Growing up, flowers were at the center of every major life event that she experienced. Graduations, weddings, funerals, anniversaries – the list was infinite in how these beautiful objects symbolized more to her than just a pretty gift. But, regardless of the event, the feeling she had at the end of her milestones consistently remained the same – she wished she could save her flowers well beyond that critical moment of her life. Fast forward a few years ago to her discovery of floral preservation and a beautiful art form was discovered.
Here at MDC, floral preservation has quickly become a hallmark of our work. It really is a beautiful moment when you are able to blend organic beauty and pure timelessness together into one piece and the world of floral preservation allows us to do just that. Each bouquet is treated with the utmost attention to detail and care, to ensure that your flowers stay as true to their original form as possible.
The goal is to preserve the original integrity of the beautiful flowers we receive, every single time. With that in mind, we strive for nothing less than perfection, to ensure that your memory is honored & preserved in the manner that it deserves.
How this process works is that you will fill out a copy of the, “Custom Order Form,” and mark, “Floral Preservation,” as the item of interest. Once your “Custom Order Form,” is submitted, a representative will be in contact with you to discuss the details of your request, including budget, quantity of flowers available, and objects/shapes of interest. After this discussion, you will receive a custom quote from us that provides a pricing breakdown of your order and is catered to the specific needs of your budget as well as the quantity of flowers you have available.
From there, when a quote is agreed upon, a custom listing will be made for you on the MDC website, for you to be able to complete the quoted transaction. Once payment is received, you will receive a confirmation email with shipping instructions on how to ship your flowers safely to our shop. Once we receive your flowers, we will begin drying your flowers (if they are fresh) or we will begin the resin casting process. Fresh flowers typically take anywhere from 1 – 2 weeks to fully dry, which adds additional time to the process. Overall, the entire process (including drying time) can take anywhere from 8-12 weeks depending on the size of the order.
One thing to note is that not all clients may have fresh flowers to work with and that is completely okay! MDC can work with a variety of bouquet options even if they have been dried out for some time. Dried flowers are the best kind even if it has been some time since your milestone event. If you want to preserve them, we will do our best to make that happen for you!
Not sure which design options you are interested in for your floral preservation? No problem! We would be happy to send you a copy of our preferred preservation package options. These packages were designed to act as a guide to provide you with inspiration on what can be done with your bouquet. Each of these packages can be adjusted to fit your preferred needs once a member of the MDC team fully discusses your order with you. Just let us know in the, “Description Box,” included on the “Custom Order Form” and we would be happy to provide this prior to our order conversation.
