1.) How long does a custom order take to be made & shipped to my home?
• Depending on the product that is being commissioned, production times for custom items can range anywhere from 4 – 8 weeks, depending on the current volume of orders we are working on and the types of orders we have received. Ready to sell options are available in our shop to provide you with items that can be shipped within 7 days, in the event that you need a product sooner than the allotted time frame.
2.) Do you provide rush orders?
• At this time, MDC does not provide rush order services. As a small business, we only have so much capacity and to ensure each customer is provided a top-notch experience, we cannot take on custom rush orders at this time. Additionally, rush orders do not provide us enough time to ensure that the materials used in our work are properly sealed, cured, and treated prior to their completion. However, if you are in need of an item ASAP, please review our ready to sell options on our Product page, to see if there is an item that is currently available that fits your needs.
3.) Why does a custom order take so long to complete?
• Each item in our shop is handmade by us from start to finish. Due to the complexity of the material that we work with, we make sure that each piece is treated with the highest degree of attention to detail and quality design to ensure its longevity for many years to come. Therefore, our orders take time to ensure that every element used in production is properly sealed, cured, and treated prior to its completion to deliver you the best product possible. This requires time and energy on our part which extends the overall production time. However, this guarantees the quality of our product and that is what we are striving for every single time.
4.) How much do your custom products cost?
• The final price of the custom item you are interested in is contingent on the type of item you are requesting and the type of design you are wanting. Each item in our shop is priced based on the specific materials needed to complete your desired design. This method is used to ensure that you are not paying more for an item or design that is not as labor or material intensive in comparison to another design that may cost more because of those two variables.
5.) Why are your products so expensive and are your prices negotiable?
• We understand the concern around pricing and do everything in our power to ensure that we are competitively priced for our products in comparison to our peers in the market. Due to the extensive time and high-quality materials that go into making these products, our prices are non-negotiable. However, we often audit our pricing against that of our peers to ensure we are in comparable ranges for those that align with our production value. Additionally, if we have an overstock of items, we occasionally provide sales to our customers, so that they may be able to purchase an item at a discounted rate that better aligns with their budget. We know you have a lot of options available to you when choosing your designer for your custom piece, so we really do appreciate you picking us and appreciate the trust you have in our products!
6.) How long does shipping for custom orders take?
• Shipping turnaround times depend on a few variables, including whether you would like to add additional personalization to an item, the type of product you are ordering, and the time of year you are purchasing an item. Generally, ordering items right before the holidays will take longer to deliver due to the nature of the post office being slammed during this time of year. However, outside of holiday influences, custom products typically ship within 7 days of completion. But, if there is a delay in the turnaround time, MDC will communicate with you directly on the issue to ensure that you are informed on the status of your order and know when to expect it by.
7.) Do you offer wholesale / bulk pricing?
• Yes we do! If you are interested in wholesale / bulk pricing, please contact us directly with information on the order you are interested in purchasing and we will provide you our rates for this arrangement!
